Engineer
Job Type: Maintenance
Congratulations on your assignment to the engineering department! You are a vital member of the space station, responsible for starting the space station's engine, configuring solar arrays, routing power through the station, maintaining the life support systems, repairing damaged systems, and providing escape paths if necessary for evacuation purposes.
Access: Engineering, Engineering Storage, Electrical Substation, Singularity Core Access, Atmospherics, Maintenance Shafts, APC Units
As an engineer, you have access to most of the ship's internal wiring, power, and ducting areas, and are given the tools and the knowledge to repair crises as they come up. You must maintain a safe and survivable environment so that your crewmates can focus on their jobs without worrying that they might be doomed to a horrible, preventable death due to your ineptitude.
Responsibility: Keep Things Running
Your responsibility is to make sure the station has power, air, and heat, and to repair damage due to accidents, wear and tear, or misfortunes that may occur during the course of normal operations aboard the station. This is a big responsibility. In particular, the singularity engine is not a toy. Do not shut down safety protocols just to see what will happen. You will be in the range of what will happen, and you will not like it.
