Detective
Job Type: Personnel
As the station detective, your primary
responsibility is to gather evidence of crimes
committed, using the tools at your disposal.
This is vital for due process - the accused has
the right to a fair trial, and evidence must
exist that proves them guilty of the crimes
they have committed. You can gather
fingerprints from victims or equipment, scan
bloodstains to determine who they came from,
take pictures of security feeds that are
capturing crimes in progress, take pictures
using scanners that can pick up crimes
committed where people think they can't be
seen, record people's conversations and
interviews for later playback, and more.
Access: Detective Office
You are an adjunct to security, and are
expected to gather evidence, not to interact
with criminals directly. You can update
security records, watch security feeds, make
reports on the security channel, and can head
out in person to go places that the cameras
can't see. While you aren't authorized to use
security equipment without the discretion of
the Head of Security, you do have access to
basic weaponry for dealing with criminals who
won't respect anything but violence in your
office.
Responsibility: Gather Evidence
Remember that your primary obligation is to
collect evidence as an adjunct to the Security
force, not to make arrests unless you are
absolutely needed to do so. However, you will
be vital in ferreting out signs of wrongdoing
throughout the station, so attend to your job
with diligence and keep things from getting out
of hand.
