Nanoweave defensive apparel is a fabric made of dense synthetic fibers reinforced for extra strength with woven carbon nanotubes, soaked in a “shear thickening fluid” of hard ceramic nanoparticles suspended in liquid. During normal handling, the armor is very flexible, but when a bullet or fragment strikes it, it becomes a rigid material. This defensive apparel can stop a typical pistol round with minimal injury to the operative.
