The village is now, at least, back to normal – for what that's worth – as people have come to rebuild and to harvest the rare local herb known as vitalblossom, a flower whose bulbs can be crushed into a paste and made into a potion that forestalls death (if reduced to zero HP by an attack that is not automatically fatal within two hours of consuming, they are instead stabilized and poisoned. This does not protect against the damaging effects of poison, disease, exhaustion, coup de grace, decapitation, or other non-combat harm.
