Stop Poking That Thing

That thing you're poking? You need to stop poking it.

Clearly, someone else agrees, because they've smacked you with this pamphlet long enough to get you to read it. But if that's not convincing enough, consider:

  • A wide variety of flora, fauna, and furnishings normally believed non-sentient in other worlds, have a possibility of being sentient in World's End due to the sheer number of worlds in existence and the small possibility that any individual world may produce a sentient variety. Therefore, you may be poking a sentient thing.
  • Regardless of whether the entity you're poking is sentient, there is a greater possibility that any individual world may produce a hostile variety of whatever you're poking. It will be of little comfort that the unidentifiable thing isn't sentient if it begins eating your arm.
  • Many unidentifiable biological items may be toxic, acidic, diseased, or otherwise dangerous to touch. It has been proven that creatures with the requirement for an immune system may be wholly unprepared for the strange diseases of other worlds, and any creature capable of reading a pamphlet may find themselves vulnerable to unusual circumstances not present on their home worlds.
  • In conclusion, it is generally unwise for you to investigate strange things by poking them. The results could be catastrophic. If you don't have experience in this sort of thing, ask someone else before you begin experimenting.
  • We claim no responsibility for what will happen if you continue poking that thing.
