Military Exploration Vessel

This military-purposed vessel has less crew than a standard NARV, and is smaller in size, yet has stronger armor and more impressive artillery. Be it Syndicate battlecruisers or xenomorphs gone wild, they don't stand a chance in hell against a well-organized MEV crew.

Deck A: Combat Information Center, Weapons Systems, Sensor and Communications Suite

  • Combat Information Center: The Bridge of a military ship, focused on processing incoming data and appropriately responding to it. The CIC operates as the Overwatch Station for deployed Marines in the field as well as the Air Traffic Control for fightercraft operating defensively or offensively in the combat theater.
  • Weapons Systems: The MEV uses banks of phase cannons to tear apart enemy ships, as well as EMPulse cannons that excel at disrupting enemy shields, and a powerful railgun that inflicts maximum damage against unshielded ships.
  • Sensor and Communications Suite: A powerful sensor suite that provides tactical information on hostile ships, entities, and more, along with a comm suite that features FTL communication with the eggheads back at home.

Deck B: Force Screen, Armor Pumps, Crew Quarters and Recreation

  • Force Screen: This power-hungry device keeps energy and ballistic weapons from impacting against the ship and causing damage, and operates as the first line of defense. A wise captain keeps the Force Screen charged as long as there is also enough power to activate the FTL engines for a quick escape.
  • Armor Pumps: These convert plates of metal into liquefied nanopolymers that restore the surface of the hull armor, acting as a secondary line of defense. Without these pumps, the hull is on its own at keeping atmosphere in and space out.
  • Crew Quarters: Berths for those not on duty to relax in hypersleep or rest in the dubiously comfortable dormitories, as well as a small locker room, gym, and restroom area.
  • Mess Hall: The cafeteria. The slop house. The place where food is distributed and delinquent troops are assigned KP duty.
  • Recreation Center: A small arcade and bar for troops to blow off some steam and relax in when not on duty.

Deck C: Dropship Bays, Fighter Bays, Engine Maintenance

  • Dropship Bays: Home of the Eagle-class troop carrier and the Hawk-class strike ship.
  • Fighter Bays: Home of Falcon, Peregrine, Vulture, and Osprey class fighter ships, each with their own roles.
  • Engine Maintenance: Home of the FTL drive, fusion ramjet thrusters, and fusion power plants. Designed to be idiotproof, which is why the ship comes with trained engineers instead of drunk rejects from a space station to mind them.
