Guide to Status Effects
Spacemen can suffer from a lot of different status effects and temporary afflictions. This page will list them.
Disables
Knockdown
When knocked down the victim will fall to the floor and drop items in hand, but will be able to crawl, pick up items and fight from the ground. However while knocked down they won't be able to shove or grab people. In addition, if someone is knocked down when they are already lying on the ground, they will not drop their held items.
Common sources of Knockdown: Rightclick.png Disarm 32.png, slipping, Stun Batons
Paralyze
A paralyzed victim will fall down and be unable to act in any way, but can still talk.
Common sources of Paralyze: stamina crit, Rightclick.png Disarm 32.png applied on someone in Knockdown
Stun
A Stunned victim will not be able to move or perform actions of any sort, but will remain upright and will still be able to speak. Pure stuns are very rare, with Paralyze being mechanically identical and far more common.
Common sources of Stun: Goliaths
Unconscious
An Unconscious victim will have the same effects of Paralyze, plus the inability to see, hear or speak.
Common sources of Unconscious: Crit, Carbon Dioxide
Sleep
A Sleeping victim will have the same effects as an Unconscious one; the difference is that some things that can't help against Unconsciousness can reduce sleeping time, like coffee or being clicked on with Help action.png Help 32.png. Sleeping can slowly heal you while you're above 80% of your max health, but space people are extremely picky about their sleeping conditions. Sleeping while at high sanity, in the dark (or while wearing a blindfold), while deaf, on a bed (or table, to a lesser effect), and with a bedsheet can all work to increase healing and cure a bad night of drinking low alcohol juices. Healing starts at 0.2 a tick for brute and burn and half that for tox, reaching a maximum near 1 and 0.5 respectively. If you manage to combine all the healing factors, you might even be able to get a good night's sleep.
Common sources of Sleep: the Sleep action, Morphine, Abductors' baton
