721 Firearms

Company Info

721 Firearms is a manufacturer of ballistic firearms, ammunition, and accessories for private security forces, although in the past twenty years they have branched into other areas under the corporate umbrella of 721 Defense Solutions:

721 has factories in the United States, Canada, and Argentina, and their products are usually good quality compared to competitors; much of their equipment is ruggedized for ease of use and maintenance, designed to work with TacNet and similar software, and coordinates well with other 721 products.

There are persistent rumors that 721 has a cybernetics division revolving around concealed weaponry and other black-ops products, as well, but if there is, it is not public knowledge; no cyberware has turned up on the white, grey, or black markets with the 721 branding, at any rate, and 721 hardware installed into individuals is typically 'aftermarket' as opposed to specifically designed for the purpose.

Their business name comes from their primary ordinance, the 7x21mm caseless ammunition cartridge, used interchangeably in all of their firearms as either a primary or secondary ballistic option: pick up two separate 721 firearms and you can always use the basic ammo from one to reload another.

Streetnopsis

721 Firearms are commonly found in the arsenal of low-rent private operators and security forces, as the ammunition is cheap and can readily be used in main and backup weapons. Likewise, the popularity of the weapon ensures that reloading from enemy supply is more easily accomplished. Some corporate outfits specifically use different weapon calibers specifically to foil attempts by outside sources (and to make it more evident when outside influences inflict violence, especially when combined with ballistic analysis software.)

Corporate Analysis

Typically, 721 Firearms are used by private security forces who need to buy bulk ammunition; the fact that one source provides compatible ammunition for a number of ballistic weapons makes them appealing. They also routinely use 721 High Energy electrolasers as 'less-lethal' deterrent weapons. PMCs and corporations with military-grade arsenals tend to prefer alternate calibers for their operations, particularly among 'corporate reduction experts' that require higher lethality or lower detectability, although infiltration experts often utilize 721 weaponry if they have determined that it is the round of choice of the target.

Product Line

721 Firearms

The main stock in trade of 721 Defense Solutions, as noted above.

Company Type: Baseline

Standard Modifiers: Gear as listed.

Notes: All 721 Firearms products are capable of taking and using the 7x21mm caseless ammunition cartridge in addition to whatever their primary firing mode might be, as both a marketing gimmick and a survivalist advantage; they are one of the earliest adopters of the caseless ammunition system and as such their weapons always provide this as a fundamental option.

Specific Rifles

721 Striker: A reliable, bull-pup configuration assault rifle designed to serve as a basic but effective weapon for military and security forces. Takes the 7x21CL round exclusively, and has a magazine that holds 50 rounds as well as one in the chamber. Often restricted to use by those with legal enforcement powers or military backing.

721 Armor Systems

A relatively new development, 721 Armor Systems specializes in basic body armor up to law enforcement grade, although it is actively pursuing military contracts. Some of their designs have found their way to the 721 Apparel line, and vice versa.

721 Apparel

Although not specifically known by this brand in their earlier days, 721 Apparel focuses on clothing that supports the private operator - they design plainclothes apparel that supports tactical considerations. This includes basic protection against assault, conveniences to aid in mobility, and concealment of personal defense hardware.

721 Surveillance

721 Surveillance mostly focuses on the facility defense aspect, although some of their work finds its way into 721 Firearms as gun accessories.

721 Cyberdefense

A relatively new sideline that is more flash than substance for now, most of 721 Cyberdefense's quality comes from highly rugged equipment cases for existing off-the-shelf equipment.

721 Close Combat

Effective close combat weapons for law enforcement, although they offer no real benefit above competing models.

721 High Energy

The home of the Laser Revolver, a laser pistol that uses six rotating power cells, as well as electrolasers for law enforcement and laser weapons in general for the military.

721 Survivor

A variety of self-sufficiency products manufactured under the 721 label.

721 Defender

721 has registered this trademark but has yet to make use of it.
