In the beginning, there was IRC. IRC was a convenient way for players to chat with each other online in real-time, but it had a number of limitations that made it imperfect for roleplaying. Among them was the inability to roll dice. That's where SpARCy came in - the Lab Arc Dicebot. Capable of rolling large numbers of dice, with numbers of sides never existing in real life, and trained to interpret some die results, SpARCy has grown over the years as we've needed more functionality from it, and even plays a few card games. It probably isn't the most sophisticated bot out there, but it doesn't need to be.
