Alpheus Kyros deVries was born in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia. In 1989, the deVries home was invaded, resulting in the death of Alpheus's older sister, Cassandra, severe injuries resulting in hospitalization for several days, and the movement of the deVries family to the gated community of Shady Side to prevent further incidents. The attacker was identified as HST PA-0198053, “Larry”, by father (and OSI-I-Delta operative) Isaac deVries in debriefing; according to Isaac, the attacker fled shortly after he returned home and attempted to engage.
Psych reports on Alpheus indicate that he is symptomatic for Axis-1: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Axis-2: Borderline Personality Disorder. He claims no recognition or memory of the events relating to the incident.
Medical reports on Alpheus include his hospitalization as a direct result of the aforementioned incident. However, he was admitted for stitches in July 1998, and was treated for a broken ankle during August 1998. As per regulations, CPS was required to investigate the deVries to determine whether any sort of abuse had taken place, but the eventual conclusion was that these injuries were caused by 'teenage enthusiasm' as opposed to any wrongdoing on behalf of the family.
Following the incident, Alpheus attended Shady Side Academy, and was noted to excel in both academics and athletics. However, in his senior year (August 1998 - October 1998), he abruptly began to show intermittent signs of violent and self-destructive impulses (repeated detentions and disciplinary actions due to fighting and other misconduct towards fellow students).
On October 12th, he was expelled from Shady Side Academy after it was reported that he had been arrested on the following charges:
Isaac deVries did not press charges relating to the TWOC charge, and paid the resultant fines for Alpheus. He attempted to enroll Alpheus within the Philadelphia OSI Academy, which was accepted contingent upon Alpheus's undergoing a two-week therapy session at the Pittsburgh OSI-R Rehabilitation Clinic. Therapy recommended included a full re-evaluation of Alpheus's mental state, hypnotic regression and impulse control therapy, as well as other actions to be recommended based on the results of evaluation and testing. Preliminary analysis suggested that his recent pattern of behavior (and unexplained injuries) were a direct result of psychological trauma working its way to the surface. His initial appointment was scheduled for October 14th.
Alpheus agreed to report to the testing center, but never showed up. He is presumed to have run away. No missing persons reports have yet been filed for Alpheus, though a watch order has been placed for him within the Pennsylvania area.
