The Tinker serves multiple purposes in Delver – first and foremost, his job is to ensure that someone will buy those useless-seeming trinkets that people haul up from the dungeon, and to promptly resell them on to other customers. As such, the Tinker is the first example of the Living Inventory System that players will encounter – his inventory consists entirely of what he buys from or sells to adventurers. However, his rates are atrocious: he offers practically no discounts, he sells everything at four times its base value, and he purchases at one fifth base value. He's likely to buy a potion for 10 gold and resell it for 200 gold.
