Her mother died of natural causes shortly after she had Cassie. When she was 8, her father remarried and mysteriously died shortly afterwards

Her Father's girlfriend took the child in and had her do farm work in order to save money.

Cassie lives on the outskirts of town, on a large, functioning family farm. She lives with her dead Father's girlfriend's family. She did most of the farming and upkeep herself, until the family got more free help.

When she wasn't working, she spent her time playing music, crafting, reading, or practicing her archery.

For the first time in her life, she's got free time, and her family isn't bothering her much.
