Kyrael is designed to work alongside DnD-5.0E, and utilizes known information about Pokemon statistics in order to generate their Kyrael statistics. It uses the following formulae:
Level is now based on DnD5.0 levels; a Kyrael lvl 1 Pokemon is equivalent to a level 1 to 5 Pokemon normally.
The six Base Stats are HP, Atk, Def, SAtk, SDef, Spd. These attributes begin with intrinsic random numbers, as do most adventurers, but receive a bonus based on (Base Stat / 20) in Pokemon terms. Every level thereafterwards, these statistics increase by an identical amount (fractions are noted and kept).
Effort Values may be accounted for as well, so Pokemon can reach great heights compared to humans; however, their moveset tends to be fixed compared to a human spellcaster.
Hit Points = Level x (10 + HP bonus). A level 3 Meowth with an HP stat of +5 would have 45 HP total.
N.AC = 10 + Spd + Def mod
S.AC = 10 + Spd + SDef mod
DC to beat for special moves is 8 + Prof + Move Acc + (A/S.Atk)
Resist is generally + Prof + D/S.Def.
For every full +5 a Pokemon has in Def/S.Def, reduce all corresponding attacks' damage by one point.
Attack roll: d20 + A/S.Atk + Prof + Move Acc mod. (A move with 85% Accuracy has an effective -3 to hit.)
Damage of a move: d8 + (A/S.Atk) + (Move Power/5).
Critical Hit: For a critical hit, max damage + normal damage. (For the above, that means 16+d8+8, or 25 to 32 points of damage.)
Example:
A level 1 Meowth knows Scratch. Its Atk stat is 10 (no bonus), so it would inflict d8 + 0 + 8 damage per hit, and rolls d20 + 0 + 2 to hit with their attack. The Meowth has an AC of 14, however, due to very high Speed (Meowths have a base Spd of 90, which translates to a +4 to Spd attribute at level 1, so most Meowths have at least AC 14.) If it attempted to strike a Pokemon with 85 Defense or higher, it would be unable to do more than 1 point of damage per Scratch excepting on a critical hit.
LoK may have some flaws to squash, so consider this a homebrew alpha system prone to quirkiness and chaos.
