Kyrael is divided into eight major continents, as well as a generous number of islands. Several of these continents are connected by island chains or land bridges, while others are separated by large tracts of ocean. Kyrael has a fair understanding of most modern sciences, although the example of Pokemon has provided increased innovations in some fields and some slight setbacks in others. In addition, there are a number of sciences devoted around understanding Pokemon and the energy that imbues their forms.
Some Pokemon are found only on specific continents, or have gone extinct in others.
The birthplace of civilization, with many recognizable traits of Mayan-like culture, with Pokemon interpreted as gods. Connects to Elwydd by a northern land bridge.
While Pokemon are known to be catchable, trainable, controllable entities, Ilvarian popular belief is that these creatures are actually aspects of far more powerful deities, with everyone from Arceus to Magikarp having a place in this grand pantheon.
Once the most densely forested place in the known world, and still in deep connection to its ancestral heritage. Connects to Ilvaria to the south via a land bridge, and Pellaro across a series of island chains to the northwest.
A wide range of Pokemon make their homes in this region, including some powerful legendary-tier entities. The island chains that connect Elwydd to Pellaro are popular amongst surfers and swimmers, as well.
A densely populated land of conflicting countries arguing over limited resources, frequently engaging in wars. Developer of many of the world's tech gadgets, but also developer of many of its problems. Directly connected to Verdain to the west by bridges over the Great Divide (a massive fault line), and connected via island chains to Taros and Milgrave.
Pellaro is actively involved in research to solve what it considers the problem of Pokemon as a limited resource, and is responsible for many Pokemon-centric inventions that are used in other regions, such as the Pokemon Storage System, various forms of PokeDex and PokeNav, and many obscure Technique Machines and Helper Machines used to train Pokemon in specific skills or feats.
A mostly mountainous, rocky region that is fairly hardy and responsible for much of the mining of the world's resources. The countries within this region defend their territories fiercely.
Verdain has been a frequent source of foreign interest due to its mineral resources, and as such focuses on controlling the paths of entry to its nation.
A rich continent with an unusually high amount of usable farmland that remains one of the more peaceful regions in the known world, although the agricultural conglomerates struggle for control over much of the larger territories.
This region is considered one of the most relaxed among PokeDex completionists, due to its large areas of grassland.
A heavily polluted continent that is suffering from massive long-term effects after heavy bombardments from various Pellaron nations during the War of Blight. In the Blighted Zones, people need filter masks to breathe, and much of the territory has been reduced to deadlands. Only the hardiest survive here.
Migrave was once a leading technological empire before conflicts with Pellaro drove it into near-extinction; the ecological disasters that remain today make it one of the most dangerous regions for prospective Trainers.
A continent at the northern pole of Kyrael, permanently tilted away from the sun, where Ice Pokemon thrive and all else struggles.
A tropical continent at the southern pole of Kyrael, permanently tilted towards the sun and home of the longest days and hottest temperatures in the world. A land of vast species diversification.
