Fight Loft Arenas

The Fight Loft can be reconfigured to use a variety of different Arenas; most arenas provide for varying environmental hazards, as well as varying levels of opponents. Arenas vary in size, from tiny arenas suited only to the most diminutive combatants to massive arenas suitable for truly epic combats. Environmental settings of 5 or higher, or opponent settings of 5 or higher, are generally reserved for accomplished combatants who are keenly aware of and familiar with the arena's foibles.

Pit of Despair

Arena Name: Pit of Despair

Arena Size: Medium (250 foot radius circular, 50 foot tall)

Arena Description: 250 feet wide and 50 feet tall, with spikes along the walls. A series of metal braziers hold flaming skulls, ringing the arena ten feet from the walls. An oversized metal axe is securely embedded in the stone floor in the northeast region of the arena, with strange runes covering its blade and haft.

Arena Entrance: A 10 foot wide space in the ceiling with a rope ladder that extends to the floor. During a Match, the rope ladder may be retracted, or used as an environmental object.

Environmental Setting Effects

Environmental Level 0: The spikes are all blunted, and the flames are entirely for show.

Environmental Level 1: As described.

Environmental Level 2: The spikes animate, and whirling sawblades appear amongst the wall obstacles.

Environmental Level 3: Floor traps begin triggering, shooting spears upwards through the floor at irregular intervals. There is a clicking noise one second before a trap triggers.

Environmental Level 4: Wall traps begin triggering, with small jets of flame bursting from the wall at irregular intervals. There is a glow one second before a trap triggers.

Environmental Level 5: The arena space gradually begins to shrink during a Match, at a rate of 1 foot in diameter per second.

Environmental Levels 6 to 10: Not yet described.

Opponent Setting Effects

Opponent Level 0: No opponent is available.

Opponent Level 1: A Skeleton springs to life, falling bone-by-bone into place from the ceiling and finally arming itself with a Wooden Mallet.

Opponent Level 2: One of the braziers spits its flaming skull skywards, and it becomes the main showpiece of the skeleton that forms. It gains a firebreathing attack, and wields the former brazier as a sort of polearm.

Opponent Levels 3 to 10: Not yet described.

Padded Arena

Arena Name: Padded Arena

Arena Size: Medium (200 foot by 200 foot square, 40 feet tall)

Arena Description: A large square room with heavy padding over all surfaces, meant to be used for practice, including practicing moves that fling opponents into the ceiling or walls.

Arena Limitations: Due to the special nature of the arena, certain powers that would otherwise cause environmental damage are limited to causing knockback and concussion damage (example: flame jets do not burn the environment or combatants). This feature can be disabled, but is on by default.

Arena Entrance: A padded platform that raises and lowers from the entranceway to the floor.
