The Barista's Handbook is a magical device of sorts that appears to be an ordinary red notebook - however, careful perusal of it will reveal information regarding the rules of the cafe, advice on handling peculiar customers, conversion rates for alien currencies, how to successfully extract unusual beverages, food, and other items from the pocketspace under the counter without being sucked through into the Void, and so forth. It also has a few random pages, only visible by non-staff members, that drive the reader permanently and utterly insane, just for anyone who chose to ignore the 'staff only' notice written on the front few pages in bolt black ink. It does not have a table of contents; if used as a reference source, it typically takes at least ten seconds for an authorized user to attempt to find a relevant entry (by flipping through at random) or up to five minutes to search for an actual answer.
