Secretaries

You are a Secretary. This means that you are assigned to the Corporate Department, although the Head of Personnel will probably give you a department or person that you are assigned to assist - Security needs people to update the security records, Medical needs people to update the medical records, the Quartermaster needs people to fill out forms, and everyone could do with copies made, coffee and donuts fetched, and the like.

Your domain is the Secretary Pool, a small office full of computers with office software to fulfill your job. However, nobody will bat an eye at you wandering nearly anywhere on the ship except perhaps the engine rooms, as secretaries usually have business in most other places.

Bare minimum requirements: Know how to do paperwork, know where most of the departments are, serve your department in a professional capacity.

Your Chain of Command

As a Secretary, your immediate superior is the Head of Personnel, who will assign you to a particular department based on the ship's needs; your job is to keep things organized and assist in the mundane world of paperwork for that department.

Tips

Coffee to Die For

“Getting the job of secretary aboard the new NARV was a breeze. Now I just need to eliminate my target and get back out again.”

Traitor Secretaries are blessed with the same protections as regular secretaries - the perceived right to be wherever they are, most of the time, particularly if they can be assigned to a department by the Head of Personnel. Combine this with their ability to be trusted with a cup of coffee and various foodstuffs and they become dangerous; an entire department can be taken out by poisoning under the right circumstances, and done properly, people might look at the chef instead. Getting assigned to medical lets you falsify medical records, and getting assigned to security lets you set people's wanted status. Be creative!
