As head of the Engineering department, the 

Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing 

the operation of the station's power systems 

and directing the activities of Engineering in 

keeping the space station running. 

**Access:** Engineering, Electronics, Bridge, 

EVA, Maintenance

Aside from an office on the bridge, the Chief 

Engineer has access to much of the station, and 

is expected to oversee the starting of engines 

and power systems, sealing off the area so that 

it remains free of interference, then 

patrolling the station, looking for areas that 

need repairs.

**Responsibilities:** Manage Engineering

Assuming your station has been fully staffed, 

your responsibility should be to provide 

direction to your staff as well as to 

personally conduct repairs, coordinate station 

reconstruction after disasters, use a space 

suit to repair areas of the station that have 

fallen to vacuum, and so on. You are an 

important member of the command structure, so 

embrace your position and the responsibility it 

holds!
