**Family**: The D'Augustino family is a close knit,Italian American family. Nicolas is the oldest child of three. His parents are both werewolves, and used a close family friend as a surrogate.

Nicola grew up knowing that there was a possibility that he, or any of his siblings, might be werewolves. He had strange dreams all his life, but until recently hadn't experienced a change.

He has always had a strong sense of justice, and thought at one time to enter the police academy. He decided instead however to pursue a degree in criminal justice. While in college, he started doing some investigative work for Mr. Newman, a bail bondsman and family friend.

Nicola is currently working freelance for Newman and several other PIs and bondsmen around the state. He is saving up to someday open his own agency.

Possessions of note include a private investigator license, a firearm permit, said firearm, and various high tech investigation equipment.
