**Brief History:**
Carmen was born to a large Mexican family in Sunnydale.  She was a bit bookish, and could speak to ghosts, but otherwise was perfectly normal.  She didn't realize that speaking to the dead was unusual until she started school.

One of her sisters did something to make a group of vampires angry, and they retaliated.  Most of her family died in a two year period of time beginning in 1989.  The remaining members died in 1992, and Carmen was left alone.  She speaks to most of her family, still, as well as any other ghosts who need help.  She tries to help them make peace, so that they can cross over.  Sometimes, she learns things from them.

In 1997, she met Tamara and Tony DeMarco.  They moved into her family home, and she began to work for the OSI in research.  Eventually Tamara moved out, and now she is dating Tony.  Carmen is now a librarian for the OSI, which she enjoys.  She's able to help with almost any kind of research.  If she has trouble finding something, she'll turn to the ghosts, who are usually helpful.
