Ailuin is not the oldest elf alive by any means. However, he is one of the more stable wingriders. Having been born during the time when mounts were becoming rare, he made the decision to leave his village early at the young age of 25. Wandering all over, he found that he could make himself useful to other villages by enhancing the crop yields of towns in need, or providing minor healing to those with lesser illnesses or injuries.

On one of these journeys during the 1940s, he encountered a small dragon, almost unheard of in that part, and almost immediately, he felt something happening - he was calmer, more efficient and overall happier. It turned out that he had become bonded to the dragon, whose name was Camroth and who was also an outcast.

Over time, he has felt the urge to settle down, and as he had visited Lake Harmony once before, he decided to settle down there.
