======Warlocks and Witches====== Warlocks and witches are active practitioners of magic, those with a gift at performing miracles not understood by modern science. While psionics is a relatively understood discipline, how magic works tends to be difficult to codify for non-mages. Fortunately, the Agency has some mages under its employ, and can describe the various forms of magical practice. First of all, anyone who can work magic is known as a witch (or warlock). Those that have some actual magical aptitude can work magic more easily, and are known as mages. While anyone who knows the right rituals and can offer the right compensations can theoretically tap into the powers of magic, mages can do so reliably and under pressure. Although modern science does not thoroughly understand magic to the same extent that we understand psionics, our experts estimate that approximately 5% of all unmodified humans who still have their appendix have the innate talent for Magery. Truly great mages are known for their mastery of ritual paths - more powerful magics that take time and extensive rituals to perform - as well as shorter, more direct powers. One warlock who frequents the Samuel Luke Station area is Master Vassago (Peter Norton), who operates a coven known as the Serpent's Youth. When not conducting rituals in the station, he can be located at the Eye of Horus occult bookstore on 13th Street.
