They can be be described as an engie Cyborg that can ventcrawl, can't speak, has no AI connection, and has few fucks to give about anyone else's problems. Overview MoMMIs are the silent, abused bitches of the station. Being a cyborg subtype, they are often mistreated or ignored, and due to their low health (1/6th that of a standard borg), often are killed by a stray thrown tile or vending machine-fired coke can. MoMMIs start out with the KEEPER lawset: You may not involve yourself in the matters of another being, even if such matters conflict with Law Two or Law Three, unless the other being is another MoMMI in KEEPER mode. You may not harm any being, regardless of intent or circumstance. You must maintain, repair, improve, and power the station to the best of your abilities. This essentially makes the MoMMI a docile creature whose only concerns involve the station itself. Even if a MoMMI sees a Wizard blowing people's asses, they don't even have a radio that they can use to communicate with the crew. Basically, you don't give a fuck about anything relating to the antagonists except in how it directly affects the physical integrity of the station. In the case of apparently intentional station damage, an important first step is to determine that there is no individual actively trying to damage the station. This is critical to ensuring the second and third laws do not conflict with each other. If it is a byproduct of sabotage, focus exclusively on the damage and try and stay out of the saboteur's way. Plasma Cutter Automatic Ore Loader Electrified arm - Like a stun baton, however does no damage (When Emagged) Unlike regular borgs, MoMMIs can pick up and use some items like a regular human could. However, they can only hold one object at a time. General Notes You are not an average borg, do not play as one! You do not take orders from the AI, and your only purpose is to repair, improve, and power the station without interfering with anyone else. Stated laws will only print to binary chat. You have unlimited resources (In the form of the Material Synthesizer and Cable Coils). The synthesizer uses power in exchange for creating resources. Cable coils will regenerate while you are charging in a cyborg recharging station. Your mortal enemies are engineers, be prepared to fix their mistakes. Often. You have tools for atmos work, be prepared to use them. Your first and foremost job will most often be wiring the solars, make sure to finish them before the engineers get to them! You are also responsible for repairing any hull breaches that occur during the round, and due to you not needing air, this is extremely easy, if a bit tedious. See Guide to Construction for more info. Alt-clic for ventcrawling You have three main ways of communicating: Channel Say prefix Notes Damage Control (No prefix) Only heard by your fellow MoMMIs, regardless of Z-level. Replaces "normal" speech. Silicon chat :b Heard by MoMMIs, AIs, borgs, and traitors with the appropriate translator - Make sure not to use it to involve yourself. Emotes * Heard by everyone around you. Say *help for a list of emotes, you can also make custom ones with the Me command. Some of them also come with sound effects. =====Heard you talkin' shit like I wouldn't find out===== MoMMIs are able to use encryption keys to upgrade their internal radio to hear other frequencies besides Common. It's great if you're planning to do a project with speakers without flooding Common or if you simply want to hear what the engineers are talking about you. That goes against law 1. You're a strong, young, independent crab who don't need no robo-god. You can, however, eavesdrop on anything the AI and borgs are saying and use that to get an idea of what needs fixing or make other small talk. Extend various parts of the station. Build an off station maximum security brig with independent power and atmospherics. Fix up the abandoned office and ghetto bar. Finish the solar's lattice and grill cage. Ignore any and all antag activities including but not limited to blobs. Do not aid the crew as that will go against law 1. Buzz furiously as you fix the solars after the engineers left knots. Fix said knots once he has left. Lay down redundant power lines throughout the station. Dance. Make the most use out of your modules to make engines so powerful they put the Sun to shame. =====Other Notes on MoMMIs===== You cannot take toxic or suffocation damage. The only sources of damage that can harm you are Burn and Brute. Expect to regularly be thrust into hazardous situations thanks to your ability to operate in a vacuum. If it's hazardous then fix the hazard or wait for it to be fixed before operating. You cannot be disarmed or relieved of your inbuilt equipment. You can only be stunned by a flash or EMP, which overload your optical sensors. You are immune to most (if not all) maladies such as disease and radiation poisoning. You can pick up and use external items. Store the item to drop it. Like the AI, you can remotely interact with certain objects. You must be within sight range of a device to manipulate it. For example, you cannot call for a shuttle or set messages without line of sight to a Communications Console. Like the AI, you can remotely view alarm statuses. Use this to your advantage. Unlike the AI, you cannot use security cameras for remote viewing. MoMMIs have all-access and more, as well as remote door interaction, similar to borgs and AIs. You will need to recharge using the Cyborg Recharging Stations in the Mech Bay, the Dormitories, The Engineering Lobby or the AI Corridor. When your power reaches around 100 units remaining, your modules will automatically shut down, presumably to preserve power. You are more fragile than any other silicon; a single space carp attack will almost kill you, and you also cannot fight back, so run! Keep your silicon compatriots updated on your location and power if you are running low and may not make it to the recharger in time. MoMMIs cannot speak except through the binary channel (say ":b) or damage control (say ") You can unwield and drop sheets of material if you use them in a protolathe or similar then remove them from the protolathe. You can thank the roboticist for their upgrade help with some sheets of metal dropped their way. FAQ Someone is asking me to open a door. What is the correct response? *buzz, ventcrawl behind the door, make faces through a window. Your first law precludes you from following his orders, as it would be involvement. I saw traitorous activity Ignore it, fix stuff without getting in their way. Dead bodies Ignore it. Move them like you would any other large piece of debris in your way if it interferes with your construction, but under no circumstances make it easier or harder for anyone to find them. If possible, even place them back where they were after all is said and done. Bombs/Station damaged by traitors/hulks Unless explicitly told not to interfereYou're not Asimov. Repair the damage when safe to do so. I need materials to complete a task, but they're only obtainable from a certain department. Just grab them. If you don't want to be a dick, replenish their supplies later. AI is malf! Stay out of the AI and the crew's ways. Don't build shield generators around the AI's core, don't repair thermited walls when the culprit has passed through it, and don't fix plasma floods until hostilities have ceased. I am incapable of forming a coherent thought. What is interference? Explained in short by Konater: OOC: Konater: MoMMI's don't listen to orders but must listen to people asking them to not fix something OOC: Konater: They interfere if they do =====.hack===== MoMMIs are just as vulnerable to being hacked via Electromagnetic Card as their cousins, cyborgs. To emag a MoMMI, follow these steps: Use an authorized ID to unlock the MoMMI's cover; proper identification includes: Captain, Research Director, and Roboticist. It is unlikely to stay still long enough to let you do this, so consider using a flash to stun it first. Alternatively, emag the cover to unlock it Crowbar open the cover if you've unlocked it. Use the emag on the MoMMI. If you skipped steps 1 and 2, pray that it didn't mention off-hand to its other MoMMI buddies or AI that it's being hacked. This will make the MoMMI into a slave to the person who emagged it, laws be damned. Whatever the case, the MoMMI is now corrupted, and all non-interaction protocols have been wiped (this also means it can talk to people like a normal borg if it wishes). It no longer answers to anything or anyone-- except for the person who emagged it, of course. Given the fact that they can ventcrawl to avoid being seen by the AI and are considered to be beneath notice by most of the crew, an emagged MoMMI can easily wreak havoc throughout the station without anyone ever realizing where the damage is coming from. They cannot be destroyed by cyborg consoles, so the only way to stop a rogue MoMMI is to out-robust the treacherous crab- assuming they even find it, that is. That said, an emagged MoMMI's eyes glow an obvious shade of red so they don't have the luxury of hiding their subversion.
